Schreiner ProTech has developed a new tap seal for the Huber Packaging Group’s Draftking beer keg, which provides authenticity protection and comes with an adhesive that ensures better bonding with the low-energy plastic material of the tap.

According to the Germany-based company, beer poured from the party keg retains its freshness for up to one month. Breweries can use the seal advertising their brands by having the labels custom-printed with their logos.

Schreiner conducted material tests initially in its laboratory to guarantee rugged marking and functional adhesion of the label, to qualify the film. The company adjusted the material, liner and roll make-up to the high cycle rate of the keg production line.

The label dispensing system was developed in such a way that it guarantees trouble-free application as the seals are dispensed in parallel to the automated production run. Schreiner pre-prints the original seals with brand graphics by using flexo-printing technology.
